mhcp.org.uk Together We Can. Today is the day!! Pop by and see our plans for Marble Hill Playcentres at York House, Twickenham 6-8pm.
As you already know, the much loved Playcentres very nearly closed in September 2017 and following a strategic review we have come together with two other charities, Skylarks (supporting children and families with additional needs) and Otakar Kraus Music Trust (providing music therapy to a range of people) to work on a vision for the Playcentres: a ground-breaking and unique community hub, working to unlock the Magic of Community, and magnifying the impact of each charity’s work.

With the support of English Heritage, Richmond Council and many others, the hub will bring together local people in a safe, inclusive, accessible space for indoor and outdoor play, activities and support for mainstream and SEND children and young people and their families. It will harness the power of music and play and be sustainable and harmonious within the heritage and beauty of Marble Hill Park. It will enable us to sustain our mission by opening year round with a new building on the existing footprint and reinvigorate the wonderful Adventure Playground. It will also include space for the Mandarin Ducklings Nursery, a great asset to the area.

The plans for the re-invigorated centre will be available to view at an evening event at York House on Monday 7th October from 6 – 8pm.

justgiving.com Help raise £1000 to name a seat at The Royal Opera House in memory of June Broom. We are very sad to hear of the passing of one of our previous trustees June Broom. June was a great supporter of the playcentres and gave 10 years voluntary service fundraising and helping to oversee the running of the charity before she moved to tWest Sussex. Her funeral will take place on 23rd September at 12.20pm at Worthing Crematorium. MID KITCHEN IN ACTION!!! Did you know the mud kitchen encourages turn taking, role play and sharing? It’s a way of developing communication and language skills through using expressive arts. #messyplay #mudkitchen
Such a talented girl! During one of the rainy days last week, we had a few little artists doing some art and craft inside. Although our Adventure Playground is predominately swings, we also provide activities that don’t include running around outside. Messy play, arts, and water play is a good way to cool down and restore energy. Just a few examples of her drawings- including a portrait of Jaz, one of our playworkers. Amazing! @ Twickenham
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: We have lots of water bottles in our lost property box at the Adventure Playground. We love that so many of you bring your bottles to refill throughout the day, but please remember to take them home! Keep on saving the environment with your reusable bottles 🌿👏🏽🥤
It’s all fun and games at our Saturday morning Inclusive play. If you didn’t know, we run a session from 10am-12pm on a Saturday morning for additional needs children. This can be any sort of additional need, so long as they’re 5-15years. You can come along with your siblings, and parents stay to accompany their children. It’s such a lovely group of people, and very much a social event for the parents. 😼🕺🏼

Just look at all the new lovely utensils for our mud kitchen at the One O’Clock Club. So much new equipment, little Jamie Oliver’s in the making! @ Twickenham
Fresh mint from our garden at the One O’Clock Club. We picked a bunch of mint at yesterday’s session to use as cooking ingredients in the mud kitchen. Swipe to see it in full use, she was making some lemonade with mint and water... brilliant! 🍋🌿 @ Twickenham
Did you know that at both the One O’Clock Club and the Adventure Playground we sell little snacks to keep your children going throughout the day? Ice pops are particularly popular in this heat. We provide tuck at particular times through the day at the Adventure Playground, and a little cafe is provided with drinks and snacks over at the One O’Clock Club. 🍎🍫🥤🍿🍦☕️

SUCCESS!!! We grew carrots, potatoes and peas over at the Adventure Playground. We find some children don’t feel as confident on the big swings, or sometimes it may get too overwhelming when it’s busy. We provide activities for these children such as gardening, planting flowers or seeds, drawing, making slime and many more.
ENGLISH HERITAGE MORNING TOMORROW! From 10am-1pm come and join us by the children’s play area by the cafe at Marble Hill House. 📍TW12NL at Marble Hill House.
